#9 Alien Contact

It was Halloween in the year of 2012, Jessica, Denys, Karla had gone out to party, enjoy, and have fun. Since sophomore year it had been all 3 of them and Nayely but lately Nayely had been drifting away, and it had just been the three of them that night. Jessica was the type of girl who did not believe in aliens or ghost or anything in that category AT ALL! Karla was the complete opposite she believed that there were aliens, and she believed in spirits and ghost and anything supernatural or out of this world. Then there was Denys she was not much of a believer, but she didn’t just cast them of as nothing.

Earlier that Halloween they had helped out a couple of friends setting up their “Haunted” house. They were having fun and loved Halloween but mostly the candy. They had been invited later on that night to a party, luckily that party was in the same neighborhood as the haunted house. They had planned to get ready dress up go help out their friends and once they were done they would walk to the party. Everything was working out perfectly; the haunted house was done, even though they didn’t know why they would call it haunted if it wasn’t even scary, it was actually funny and they should have called it a fun house. They started walking towards the party they didn’t exactly know where it was at, but they sort of had an idea. They stared talking about the main thing people talk about on Halloween, Ghost. But the thing was that they could talk about this for hours and never get bored or run out on what to say. They all had complete different ideas and opinions on this that all they would do was debate and argue. They had been so caught up on their conversation that they had no idea of where they were at, but what was so strange about it was that the street they had ended up on was completely lonely. There were no light on, no kids walking around, there was just nothing. All of a sudden they came to a complete stop, right ahead of them there was a small kid he looked like he could be 5 or 6 years old, and this kid was just standing there in the middle of the street staring at them. Karla was scared half to death, while Jessica was thinking this poor kid might be lost, and Denys had no idea what to make of this.

Then this kid started to walk towards them, what we do is what was running through all of their heads now, but the most unbelievable thing happen. While it had been walking towards them it started to change form. It had begun to slowly get tall, and while that was going on “its” hair stared to grow and turn a blond color. Then standing in front of them was this very beautiful woman, and it was just so incredible and SCARY!!!!! They were now frozen in their position they couldn't move or speak. Then this "thing" starts to speak to them but in the beginning it was a weird language that they did not understand. Then slowly it started to speak their language “Hello there humans?” It started to say. They all wanted to scream and run at least be able to talk but they could not it was as if this “thing had frozen them. Yet again it spoke, “I came to your planet to observe it, and so that my planet and our life there can learn more from what I am seeing. I have not been able to see much it seems that most of your people look strangely different.” “I come from a different planet in peace, and in the hope of learning more. You earthling would be of great help to me.” Then finally they were all “unfrozen” but they were shocked and scared so of course Karla was the first to speak” OMG!! This is so freaky what planet do you come from? What’s your name? How did you arrive here?” she was speaking so fast and loud, and then she was again frozen. “Earthling my name does not matter and my planet you have never heard of and it also has the technologies to send us anywhere throughout the universe. Now I would like to know if you
are willing to help me. I will do no harm to you or anybody else that is if you do not speak of this.” “Yes!! Absolutely and completely yes!!!!!! We will help you in anything you need.”

Assignment # 12 The Black Cat

The Black Cat- 1843

This story was written a long time ago it is in writing that we don't really see any more. Throughout this whole story there is a deeper meaning or emotion. In the beginning this man is happy and tells of his nice and loving disposition his wife how he loved her and of his love for animals. This might mean in general I guess the way everybody feels in the beginning of one’s life our emotions and how we all thin our life is going. That this man was very fond of animals, and would never hurt them they were almost like his life. But in this story this man’s becomes a great drunk who ends up losing all feeling toward other things and persons, and in just ends up hurting the things he loved the most in his life his animals and his wife. But maybe this is what this story is trying to tell us, that if we are not careful we end up hurting what we love or appreciate the most in our lives. And maybe even though we or they do not mean to, they do and in the end it just too much to think you can make it all better, and go back to the life we once had. And maybe this is what the black cat is actually trying to symbolize, at least for me. That making one simple mistake and it can ruin your life and in this book this man’s mistake was drinking it was his downfall. And maybe in our lives it does not exactly have to be drinking, but drugs or a hobby we come obsessed with. That you make a huge mistake and in the end it’s just too much to be ignored or even forgiven. Many people lose their homes, jobs, families, and in worst cases like in this book this man lost his life for his stupid mistake. That if maybe people see their mistakes or are able to fix them in time their fate won’t end up bad.

This black cat was this man’s whole life; he loved this cat with all his heart. And in the end this man kills this cat and tries to find a replacement, very bad decision. This is probably what most people try to do make up for a loss they have or try and make them self-feel better with something else. But that’s just not the way it works. This man tried to kill the second black cat he had gotten, and when his wife tried to stop him he ended up killing her in one of his moments of savage. I guess many people actually do that they end up taking out their anger with someone else, and when they finally do they do not stop until it is all out of their system. This man thought he could get away with the murder of his wife, and live a happy life as if nothing had happened. But in the end he got caught and had to pay for what he had done. And, again a lot of us try to do that, to just turn around and act as if nothing happened and it may go ok for a while. But in the end it always comes back up and what goes around comes around. But it always comes back tougher and even harder or uglier than what we had actually done.

Assignment #11 The Concrete Rose

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk without having feet.
Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared

The first line says "Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete." I would say that this is trying to actually say something beautiful can happen even when most people believe it impossible. That something happened or was made almost from something impossible, as if it were a miracle. I really like this line because it’s just so inspirational when you read it and actually pay attention to the words, it made me feel like I can accomplish anything, that anybody can accomplish anything when nobody expects it or believes it.

The second line says "Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk without having feet." This line deeper meaning for me would be that whatever miracle or wonderful thing that happened, that was able to prove everybody else thoughts or feelings wrong. I really don't understand the” it learned to walk without having feet” part I try to think hard about it and what it is trying to symbolize but i just do not get it. Maybe that it learned to grow to get beautiful without having roots or actually having anything to start or grow with.

The third line says “Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air." This actually means a lot. The meaning I get that it is trying to say is that even though nobody believed, it believed in its self and that was the only important thing. That with people or even myself, that believing in one’s self is what can actually keep us going, that we can learn to use what we have and our thoughts to grow. That it doesn't matter others people thoughts we only need to believe in our self's.

The fourth line say's "Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared" this lines means to me that long live the person that grew from their thought, dreams, believes even when nobody cared or believed that they could grow and become something or someone . That maybe they should be proud of they did became or accoThat maybe they should be proud of they did became or accomplished. I can use this because I believe in myself, and in what I can accomplish and that I can prove people wrong and make them see and believe.

I guess in general this poems words and meanings are inspirational to others and to me. It inspires me to do better and many other people who read this poem and take time to understand its meanings. This makes me want to be that one rose that grew from the concrete, that one rose that made people rethink and believe in what they though was impossible.
